Weihenstephaner 1516 Kellerbier - 500ml

Our 1516 Kellerbier is a specialty beer brewed with the rare Hallertauer Record hop variety, a variety that is currently grown by only one farmer in the Hallertau hop-growing region.

The 1516 Kellerbier was first brewed to celebrate the 500th anniversary of the Bavarian Purity Law (Reinheitsgebot). It has quickly become a well-kept secret among beer enthusiasts and is often served with grilled meats, roasts, and cheeses.

The 1516 Kellerbier is full-bodied, with a pleasant caramel note and a rich amber color. During the extended maturation period, the bottom-fermenting yeast settles at the bottom of the tank, giving the beer a slight opalescent turbidity, part of its characteristic appearance. The balanced hop note perfectly rounds out its flavor.
